Tropical depression 'Emong' leaves PAR; Signal No. 1 lifted -- PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has lifted all tropical cyclone warnings as tropical depression "Emong" was already outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at around 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 6.

"With the lifting of the wind signal in Batanes, Emong is no longer directly affecting the country," PAGASA said in its weather bulletin.

The State weather bureau estimated the location of the center of Emong at 335 kilometers northwest of Itbayat, Batanes at around 10 a.m.

It has slightly weakened with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph but remained a tropical depression.

Under the influence of the tropical depression, moderate to rough seas up to 1.5 to 3.0-meter high waves will be experienced over the seaboards of Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands.

PAGASA still advised mariners of small sea craft to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea while inexperienced mariners were asked to avoid navigating in these conditions.

"On the forecast track, Emong will continue moving northwestward towards southeastern China and may weaken into a remnant low before it reaches the southeastern coast of southern China," PAGASA said.
