PCG rescues 2 fishermen after waterspout sinks their boat in Sarangani


The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued two fishermen from their sunken motorbanca after being hit by a waterspout off Maasim, Sarangani waters on Saturday, July 3.

In an incident report on Tuesday, July 6, the two fishermen were on board MBCA Helena when a waterspout formed near the area where they were fishing.

The rescued individuals were identified as Jolo Sobiano and Jovanie Aporto.

The search and rescue team of PCG Substation Maasim, in cooperation with three local fishermen, responded immediately to rescue Sobiano and Aporto.

The rescued fishermen were brought to Barangay Tinoto, Maasim, Sarangani for further medical assistance.
