Pabillo installation as Taytay bishop set on August 19

Bishop Broderick Pabillo will be formally installed as the new vicar apostolic of Taytay in Palawan on August 19.

The installation Mass will be held at 9am at the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral in Taytay town.

"We priests are still meeting but our baseline is that August 19 is the installation,” CBCP News quoted Father Reynante Aguanta, the vicariate’s administrator, interview over Radio Veritas Tuesday, July 6.

He said the vicariate is coordinating closely with the local government to better manage the historic event.

Pabillo is expected to leave Manila for his new post on the second week of August.

It was on June 29 when Pope Francis appointed Pabillo as the second vicar apostolic of Taytay.

The 66-year-old will replace Bishop Edgardo Juanich, who resigned in 2018 due to health reasons.

Pabillo had been auxiliary bishop of Manila since 2006.
