Nadine Samonte almost loses baby to PCOS and APAS

Announcing her third pregnancy last earlier last month, Nadine Samonte reveals that it hasn't been an easy one. She shared a photo of her growing but bruised tummy with syringe and medicines.

She reveals that she still has PCOS and APAS, but she was able to battle it before with her two children. "This journey is particularly different from my 2 kids. We almost lost our baby during my first trimester but with Gods grace and Guidance hindi nya kami pinabayaan. God is Good," she posted.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), according to healthline, is affects women's hormones. They produce higher amounts of male hormones which leads to skipping of menstrual periods. This is one of the main reasons why women with PCOS have a hard time getting pregnant.

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APAS), in reference to Medicine Net, affects the immune system and symptoms including excessive clotting of blood and pregnancy complications that can lead to premature miscarriages, unexplained fetal death, or premature birth. The presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (such as anti-cardiolipin or lupus anticoagulant antibodies) in the blood is also a sign of APAS.

Despite all of these challenges, Nadine, like any parent, believes that her journey is more of a blessing than a struggle. "Feeling my tummy grow everyday is what I'm thankful for," she adds. She list down the medicines she is taking, "And more to come. Not complaining but hey i can say I'm one strong momma here fighting for my babies. Ang dami kong iniyak sa journey na to hehe, pero i wont give up EVER! I'll fight and stay strong for them! Go APAS and PCOS mommas out there. Kaya natin ito. Hello to our rainbow baby soon."
