DOH reports 4,114 new COVID-19 cases; active infections down to 49,613

The country recorded 4,114 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, July 6.
The last time that the Department of Health (DOH) reported over 4,000 cases was last June 30 with 4,509 cases then.
Based on the latest case bulletin, the total number of confirmed infections in the Philippines currently stood at 1,445,832, of which 49,613 or 3.4 percent are active cases.
Of the currently sick individuals, 90.8 percent are experiencing mild symptoms, 3.9 percent are asymptomatic, 1.5 percent are in critical condition, 2.2 percent are severe, while 1.62 percent are in moderate condition.
The death toll climbed to 25,296 or 1.75 percent of the total case count after 104 new deaths were confirmed, including the 63 cases “that were previously tagged as recoveries (but) were reclassified as deaths after final validation.”
The total tally of survivors also rose to 1,370,923 or 94.8 percent of the country's case tally after 6,086 more patients recovered.
“Twenty-eight duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 22 are recoveries," the DOH said.
The DOH said that 57 percent of intensive care unit beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide are currently occupied, while 47 percent of isolation beds are being utilized.
