What Ricky Gumera did with his first paycheck is inspiring

Pageant king-turned-actor Ricky Gumera has so much to be grateful for.

Following his breakout role in the sexy movie "Anak Ng Macho Dancer" in 2020, Ricky has made his presence felt in show business. He is one of the very few pageant winners who made a successful crossover to the entertainment industry.

Ricky, 21, has wrapped up his second movie "Kontrabida" starring Nora Aunor. It will be followed by an action film entitled "Banat." His fourth offing is the flick entitled "Melissa" starring Maricel Soriano.

"I never really wanted to be in the movies. Prior, I was into selling real estate properties. When I met producer Joed Serrano, of Godfather Productions, he invited me to audition for 'Anak Ng Macho Dancer.' I passed the auditions," he said.

Ricky has always thought that show business is a complicated profession. But when his manager Meg Perez explained to him that this could be his chance to help his family, he changed his mind. "My heart melts when I think of my family. I want the best for them."

When the question of paycheck popped up during the interview over the weekend, Ricky revealed what he did with his first big paycheck.

"I donated a portion of the money to God. Since I became a born-again Christian, I practice tithing. Let's say if I earn P100,000.00, I will give 20 percent to the Lord. Something big or good happens when you give back to the Lord. He has done miracles for me," he said. "I also treated my family and friends to dinner."

The hunk said that he grew up in a squatter's area. He wanted to give a comfortable life to his mother and close friends, so he decided to transfer to a decent home.

"We are still renting, and I hope to buy a house in the future for my family. I also want to put up my laundry business," Ricky said.

Believe it or not, when he was cast in the bold movie, he asked the permission of his pastor to do the steamy scenes. "He gave me the go-signal to do it. Trabaho lang naman ang lahat."
