Valenzuela City tops list of NCR cities with highest COVID-19 vaccine utilization rate

Valenzuela City has ranked first among Metro Manila cities with the highest number of COVID-19 vaccine utilization rate.

Based on data from the country's Regional Vaccination Operations Center, Valenzuela City bested 16 other cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) in terms of vaccine inoculation rate after it was able to administer 92 percent of all its COVID-19 vaccine supply from the national government.

"Ibig sabihin, sa kada padala ng Pamahalaang National sa atin ng bakuna, mabilis natin etong nagagamit para sa mga mamamayan natin. Salamat din sa mga Valenzuelanos na patuloy na nagreregister para maabot agad natin ang herd immunity (This means, every time the national government delivers to us new COVID-19 vaccine supply, we are able to immediately administer them to our residents. I thank all my constituents who continue to register to help us achieve herd immunity)," Mayor Rex Gatchalian said.

"Samantalahin ko ang pagkakataon na magpasalamat sa lahat ng mga nagtratrabaho sa vaccination program natin (I also want to take this opportunity to thank those who are working for our vaccination program)," he added.

Because of the city's speedy vaccine administration, the local government had to temporarily stop inoculating its residents on Sunday, July 4, while waiting for the new batch of supply from the national government.

"Antabayanan po natin ang bagong advisory kung kelan tayo magstart muli ng paglabas ng appointment letters (Let's wait for the advisory as to when we can start giving out appointment letters again)," Gatchalian said.
