The Office of the Vice President (OVP) and its private partners donated relief packs and other essential goods to residents who had to flee their homes due to the continued unrest of Taal Volcano.

Vice President Leni Robredo said her office sent relief teams to four municipalities in Batangas to bring aid to evacuees.
Relief packs, including sleeping blankets and ready-to-eat meals, were distributed to families temporarily taking shelter in different evacuation centers.
“We have a team there right now,” Robredo said over dzXL, referring to the Batangas towns of Laurel, Agoncillo, Balete, and Tanauan.
A Facebook post from Robredo’s official page showed the OVP team was distributing relief packs, cultured milk drinks, and mattresses at the Malabanan Elementary School in Balete, Batangas.
The vice president noted they have prepared for the relief operations even as the Taal Volcano island was only placed under Alert Level 1 last month.
On July 1, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has raised the alert status to Alert Level 3 after the volcano generated a kilometer-high phreatomagmatic plume.

This has prompted the forced evacuation of some 1,034 families or around 3,450 individuals from high-risk areas as of Monday.
Robredo said the Taal evacuees who need assistance can directly message her on her official Facebook account.
“Kapag nakita niyo po ang team namin doon sa apat na lugar na iyon, puwede niyo ding sabihan (If you see our team in those four areas, you can also tell them),” she said.
