DOH allocates additional COVID-19 vaccines to Taal communities
The Department of Health (DOH) is providing additional coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines in Taal affected communities.

"We are providing additional vaccines as well as additional test kits...the DOH has also procured enough vaccines for all of the evacuees," Dr. Voltaire Guadalupe of the DOH Calabarzon said in an online forum Monday, July 5.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said this is to "protect the people in evacuation sites" affected by the activity of Taal Volcano.
"The allocation of vaccines will be increased. We are hoping that by vaccinating individuals and also monitoring them through antigen test kit,and asymptomatic monitoring, we will be able to prevent further infections in the evacuation centers," she said.
Vergeire said there is also a need for evacuation centers to implement the safety protocols.
"The people in the evacuation site should be wearing their facemask. Keep the evacuation sites ventilated," she said.
"If possible, use schools with many rooms where a family can stay per room so it will be safer.
If this is not possible, Vergeire said, families may also be given their own tent just like in other evacuation sites.
