ARTA Secretary Belgica lauds Pasay City's eBOSS

Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) Secretary Jeremiah Belgica congratulated the Pasay City government for its efforts to automate the filing of business permits through electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS).

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) under Mitch Pardo made the business permit application easy.

She said the 201 barangays in the city agreed to collect a unified fee of P500 for barangay clearance through eBOSS.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) also agreed to let the city government collect fees to be remitted later to the BFP also through the same electronic system.

The mayor said the payment of less than P1-million can be signed electronically by the BPLO chief. However, if it is above the said amount it should be signed by the BPLO chief and the City Administrator.

Belgica said ARTA is supporting the political will of Rubiano to erase red tape in the city.

He said they will also conduct inspections and investigations in other local government units to determine whether they are fully compliant with ARTA.
