
There were 5,966 new people who tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Sunday, July 4.
The new cases pushed the cumulative tally of cases in the Philippines to 1,436,369, of which, 52,708 cases were still considered active, the DOH said.
Its latest case bulletin showed 91.1 percent of currently ill patients have mild symptoms, 3.8 percent were asymptomatic, 1.4 percent were in critical state, 2.1 percent were severe, while 1.54 percent have moderate symptoms.
The DOH also confirmed 86 new fatalities, causing the death toll to reach 25,149. The tally represents 1.75 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, 6,987 more patients survived. This brought the recovery tally to 1,358,512, which is equivalent to 94.6 percent of the country’s total case count.
The DOH reminded the public again to strictly follow the minimum public health standards.
