Arlene Sinsuat, Noli de Castro's wife, passes away

Arlene Sinsuat-de Castro, wife of veteran news anchor Noli de Castro, died Saturday.

This was confirmed by daughter Katherine in a Facebook post.

"I feel so down. My head hurts and my tears never seem to stop,” Katherine, general manager of state-owned People's Television Network, wrote.

Born in Cotabato in 1955, Arlene began her career in media career at MBS-4 (Maharlika Broadcasting System) in 1981.

After the EDSA Revolution in 1986, she joined ABS-CBN Corp. as executive producer, handling shows such as “PEP Talk,” “Good Morning Philippines,” and “Magandang Umaga Po” with her husband and Korina Sanchez.

In the 1990s, she was promoted to Vice President of the Current Affairs Department of ABS-CBN, and was behind the success of top-rating programs like “Magandang Gabi Bayan (MGB),” “Assignment,” “Pipol,” and “Dong Puno Live,” among others. 

She also headed the Special Reports Group of the network’s flagship newscast, “TV Patrol,” for several years.
