No public masses in Diocese of Pasig starting July 31

There will be no public masses in the Diocese of Pasig starting Saturday, July 31.

The diocese announced the news in a Facebook post Friday, July 30.

"Starting tomorrow, July 31 to August 20, 2021 there will be no public Masses in all parishes and chapels in the Diocese of Pasig," read the post.

It added that all Masses will be done online.

Other dioceses have yet to make an announcement.

The announcement was made on the day the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases said that Metro Manila will be placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting August 6.

Under ECQ, physical religious gatherings are not allowed.

Metro Manila is currently under general community quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.
