Hidilyn Diaz, Alden Richards praised for display of strong faith

Entertainment columnist Lolit Solis lauded celebrities Olympian Hidilyn Diaz and Kapuso actor Alden Richards for their faith in the devotional medallion with the Blessed Virgin Mary depicted as the Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.


On Instagram, Lolit said that she remembered Alden when Hidilyn showed to the public her Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.


Lolit recalled that she and her friends were looking for Alden during the wedding of Vicki and Hayden Kho in Paris, France in 2017, only to find out that the Kapuso hunk was inside the Church of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal.

"Naalala ko si Alden Richards Salve sa ipinapakita ni Hidilyn Diaz na religious medal. Natandaan mo ba nuon ikasal sila Dra. Vicki Belo at Hayden Kho sa Paris, ng hinahanap natin si Alden nasa simbahan siya ng Our Lady of Miraculous Medal na siyang devotion ngayon ni Hidilyn Diaz," said the veteran showbiz journalist.

She added: "Masarap marinig na ganuon katibay ang faith ni Hidilyn sa suot niyang medallion na sabi niya reminder sa kanya ng mga taong nagdarasal para sa tagumpay niya. Iyon faith natin na iyon ang madalas nagpapalakas ng loob natin, iyon pananalig na nagbibigay tibay sa atin. Sabi ni Hidilyn naging daan ang mga pagsubok sa buhay niya kaya siya lalong kumapit sa pananalig niya, na alam niya na nagbigay ng mga pangarap niya."

Lolit lauded celebrities who are Marian devotees. "Faith is to believe in what you don't see, and the reward of that faith is to see what you believed."


She added that Hidilyn and Alden are shining examples of celebrities who have strong faith.

"Patibay si Hidilyn. Patunay din ang pagsamba ni Alden. Pareho silang humingi ng tulong, at ibinigay ito sa kanila. Miraculous Medal of Mary, please pray for us. Help us in our needs, help us to endure. Guide us. Amen," Lolit also said.
