As they say, accidents happen in threes. First, a nurse was caught pricking the arm of a so-called vaccinee with air and no vaccine in a vaccination site in Makati. Then Senate President Tito Sotto said his son, QC Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, had told him about people talking about water being disguised as vaccines. Last Thursday NBI agents caught three persons transporting a box of Sinovac vaccines with the intention of illegally selling them for P4,150 per dose, or a total of P1,245,000, good for 300 doses.
The first and third incidents have been resolved, more or less. The nurse in Makati has apologized while a DOH investigation is ongoing. NBI’s successful entrapment of the suspects in the Sinovac sale means they have been arrested and will face charges. What we curious busybodies want to know is whether Vice Mayor Sotto has more details for us about water being used as a substitute for vaccines! In a marketplace where everything can be faked – from currency to diplomas, passports to virginity, high-fashion brands to biographies – what’s a con job involving hollow jabs?
Remarkable how in the time of a pandemic that has disrupted and destroyed millions of lives, crooks and ghouls are gleefully, greedily “thinking out of the box” to dream up schemes to enrich themselves at the expense of “innocent bystanders” (as police reporters would have described them in the old days).
As far as the vaccine program goes, there are two things worth worrying about. First, is it true even the fully vaccinated will now need another booster shot (the third!), after which a fourth injection will be needed to test the presence of antibodies in the vaccinee’s body? Whoa! Will there be no end to the process? The best way to destroy the propaganda for vaccines is to emphasize the never-ending series of shots and more shots to validate the drugs’ ability to “protect” the vaccinated.
The second question is one that should have been asked by environmentalists from the very start. Now that more than 10 million doses have been administered, may we know where those used syringes and vials have landed? And if it’s DENR taking care of their disposal, shouldn’t we know how it’s being done?
