Pasig City streamlines health centers' records, boosts medical teleconsultation services

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Friday that the city government launched its new IT system integrating all city health centers' medical records into one database.

The improvement aims to ease the burden of manually searching the medical records of any Pasigueño in the city's health centers especially if he/she transfers from one barangay to another.

"Naranasan mo na bang pumunta sa ibang health center tapos di ka ma-accomodate dahil nasa kabilang Center ang records mo, lalo na para sa mga lumipat na ng barangay? O baka naman po isa ka sa mga nagfo-"forum shopping" na papalit-palit ng center hanggang makuha mo ang resetang gusto mo? (Have you experienced going to a health center but cannot be accommodated because your medical record is in another center, especially those who transferred from one barangay to another? Or are you one of those who are doing "forum shopping" just to get the prescription of your choice?)," Sotto asked in a Facebook post.

"Ang mga problemang ito, at marami pang iba, masosolusyonan na! Kasabay ng paggunita natin sa Araw ng Pasig, nag-launch tayo kahapon ng bagong IT system -- integrated na ang 12 sa mga health center (All these problems and many others have now been addressed! As we celebrate Araw ng Pasig, we have launched a new IT system which has already integrated 12 of the city's health centers)," he added.

The mayor said that before the end of the year, all 44 city health centers will be linked to the new IT system.

Aside from the new IT system, Sotto said that the LGU has also improved its medical teleconsultation services, especially when there's no doctor or specialist on duty.

The LGU also made a lot of improvements in its medical services to its residents.

Sotto said that the city government will open its mega dialysis center in December, which would offer free dialysis treatments to its residents.

The dialysis center, which will be located near the Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH), will bring the local government’s total number of dialysis machines to 100, according to the City Health Office (CHO).

The LGU allocated 21 percent of its P12-billion budget this year for health programs as the country continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic.
