LPA may bring rains over Metro Manila, some parts of PH in next few days -- PAGASA

A low pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and could bring rains over several parts of the country until early next week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday, July 3.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA was at 1,095 kilometers east of Mindanao around 3 a.m.
It is expected to move westward and may enter the PAR between Saturday and Sunday, July 3 to July 4.
Aurelio said the LPA is still far from the country's landmass but its extension or trough was already bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Bicol, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Visayas.
PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides as rains may become moderate to at times heavy.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also advised the public to stay vigilant against flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Based on the PAGASA's extended weather outlook from July 4 to July 6, Aurelio said the LPA may continue to bring rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon and Visayas.
