DFA: 99 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad; total number of cases rises to 20,881
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Saturday, July 3, that 99 overseas Filipinos have contracted coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of positive cases to 20,881.

The DFA also reported 88 new recoveries or those who have been discharged from hospital and eight new fatalities.
The number of new cases is the highest for July so far. This is based on reports from 94 countries and territories.
Of the total 20,881 cases, 12,375 overseas Filipinos have already recovered. It added that 7,269 are undergoing treatment, while 1,237 have died.
In the Asia Pacific, there were 4,488 cases with 1,693 undergoing treatment, while 2,762 have recovered. There were a total of 33 deaths in the region.
The bulk of the cases are in the Middle East and Africa with 11,855 cases—6,504 have recovered and 4,521 are undergoing treatment. It has the highest number of deaths, too, with 830.
In Europe, 3,552 Filipinos tested positive with COVID-19, with 2,482 recoveries, 940 undergoing treatment, and 130 deaths.
In the Americas, which included 13 countries and territories, 986 cases of COVID-19 involving Filipinos were recovered. Of that number, 627 have recovered, 115 are still undergoing treatment, and 244 have died.
