PCG rescues 2 Pinoy from distressed boat off Manila South Harbor

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued two Filipino mariners from a distressed motorbanca off Manila South Harbor anchorage area on Saturday, July 24.

In an incident report released on Tuesday, July 27, motorbanca Odyong was passing on Manila South Harbor when boat captain Maximo Aniñon and seaman Jason Sidocon detected an engine trouble.

The mariners also encountered huge waves and strong winds, which caused it to drift in the shoreline of Manila Hotel Wharf during the inclement weather.

Upon receiving the information, personnel of PCG’S BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) were deployed to locate and rescue the mariners.

The rescued mariners were transported to nearest shoreline, while the motorbanca was temporarily moored in the Manila Hotel Wharf until the sea condition was safe for sea travel.

The PCG said the two mariners were safe and not injured during the incident.
