More than 75% of qualified individuals for vaccination have received 1st dose -- Mayor Isko

More than 75 percent of Manila’s target qualified population have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso reported Tuesday (July 27).

In his regular live report on Facebook, Domagoso said that as of July 27, 4 p.m., 817,665 individuals have already received their first dose, which is equivalent to 76.77 percent of 1,065,149 or the total number of eligible persons for vaccination in the city of Manila.

“Have we achieved our goal? Well, halfway there,” Domagoso said.

The city has also fully vaccinated 467,234 individuals which is 57.14 percent of the total number of persons inoculated in the city, and 43.87 percent of its target population.

“Is it safe to say at least the general population of the qualified age ay kahit papano may proteskyon? Opo (have at least a bit of protection? Yes),” he said.

“We will continue to achieve small steps but ascending steps towards victory, towards safety, towards protection,” he added.

The mayor, however, warned that the fight against COVID-19 is far from over.

“While it is true that we achieved something together, di pa tapos yung laban, nasa gitna pa lang tayo ng laban (the fight is not over, we are only in the middle of the fight), Domagoso said.

As of July 27, the city of Manila has administered 1,246,261 COVID-19 vaccines.
