Filipino swimmer Remedy Rule out of Tokyo Olympics

Remedy Rule ended her Tokyo Olympics campaign after falling short in the semifinals of the 200-meter butterfly event on Wednesday morning, July 28 at the Tokyo Aquatics Center.

Rule clocked in two minutes and 12.89 seconds in the second semifinal, good for a 15th place overall. Only the top eight advanced to the finals.

The 24-year-old Filipino-American swimmer barged into the semifinals after tallying 2:12.23 in the heats for No. 15 on Tuesday night.

In a report by David Rieder of swimmingworldmagazine.com, Rule, who won two silver and two bronze medals in the 2019 SEA Games, said that she won't be competing after the Olympics and instead pursue a Masters of Professional focused on marine biology at the University of Miami.
