Convenience is key: DOTr opens new LTO extension office in Laguna

As part of its commitment to provide motorists with more efficient and reliable services, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has unveiled a new extension office of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Pagsanjan town, Laguna.

Transportation Secretary Arthur P. Tugade led the opening of the Pagsanjan office at the Areza Town Center on Tuesday, July 27. The office is the newest addition to the list of LTO extension offices in the Calabarzon region.

The DOTr has previously opened LTO extension offices in Catanuan, Tagkawayan, and Alabat towns in Quezon; Binangonan, Tanay, and Taytay in Rizal; Naic, Cavite; San Pedro, Laguna; and Taal, Batangas.

"Sa pagbubukas ng mga LTO Satellite Offices, hindi na tao ang lalapit sa LTO. LTO na ang lalapit upang makapagserbisyo sa tao (With the opening of its satellite offices, the LTO is becoming more accessible to serve the people)," Tugade said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 28.

Tugade said that with the establishment of the new office, motorists from the fourth district of Laguna will no longer have to travel for two hours to LTO Calamba office for vehicle inspection, registration, or renewal of registration.

For his part, Pagsanjan Mayor Peter Casius Trinidad expressed gratitude to the DOTr for its support in improving the lives of constituents.

"We will no longer need to travel far because we have now our own LTO Office. This means we can save time and money to spend on other important matters we have to attend to," Trinidad said.

During the inauguration, Tugade also reminded LTO officials and personnel to remain true to their oath of good governance.

"Magserbisyo po tayo ng tama at wagas sa mga tao pagkat anumang building at pasilidad ang ating gagawin kung sasabayan ito ng korapsyon ay hindi ito magtatagal. Ang korapsyon ay walang lugar sa wastong serbisyong pang-gobyerno, sa serbisyong pampubliko (Let's serve the people faithfully because whatever building and facility we build, if it is accompanied by corruption, it will not prosper. Corruption has no place in public service)," he added.
