10 repatriated OFWs in Davao City test positive for COVID-19

DAVAO CITY - Ten overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were repatriated here on July 15 and 18 tested positive of the Sars-CoV-2 virus which causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The 10 were among the 138 OFWs who arrived at the Davao International Airport on the said separate flights.

"Tulo kabuok ang nagpositive from the Dhaka flight and gibalhin na sila sa designated nila nga TTMF for OFWs who will turn positive gikan sa mga repatriation flights. Sa Dubai flight dunay seven kabuok (Three OFWs tested positive from the Dhaka flight and they were already transferred to the their designated temporary treatment and monitoring facility for OFWs who will test positive from the repatriation flights. Seven also turned positive from the Dubai flight)," City Mayor Sara Duterte said during her Special Hours radio program on Monday.

Duterte said the city will coordinate with the Department of Health for the protocols with regard to the other air passengers who will be included in the contact tracing during the said flights.

She said the patients have already been placed in a designated treatment facility in the city.

"Lain-lain sila og cases, naay asymptomatic, naay mild, naay nanginahanglan og medical care (Some of them are asymptomatic, some show mild symptoms and others are needing medical care)," Duterte added.
