Manila LGU to open third dialysis center

The city government of Manila announced on Tuesday, July 27, that a third dialysis center will soon open in the city to further boost its healthcare services.

Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso inspected the new dialysis center located at the Sta. Ana Hospital.

"Ito ay pagpapatuloy sa plano ng Pamahalaang Lungsod na i-modernize ang ating mga district hospitals para mabigyan ng libreng
specialized medical treatment ang lahat (This is a continuation of the city government's plan to modernize the district hospitals for the people to receive free specialized medical treatments)," Domagoso said.

"Gusto nating maging accessible sa taong bayan ang pagpapa-dialysis. Hindi komo kapos sila ay wala na silang pag-asang magpa-dialysis (We would like the dialysis treatment to be accessible to everyone. Being an indigent doesn't mean you will be deprived of the chance to receive the treatment)," he added.

The new dialysis center has 11 seats with six fresinus hemodialysis machines, high-end HD machines, two machines with portable reverse osmosis,
a HEFA filter and portable reverse osmosis, 11 TV sets with wireless bluetooth headsets, an ECG Machine, a defibrillator, and suction machines. It also has a negative pressure room for COVID-19 patients.

Domagoso said the center shall operate from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday to be reserved for those in need of emergency dialysis.

The mayor shared that the Sta. Ana Hospital Dialysis Center can serve 26 patients per month, with each patient under a thrice-a-week dialysis regimen.

He added that once all the dialysis machines are operational, the center can accommodate 66 patients a month.
