National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Vince Dizon said Tuesday, July 27, that 6.3 million Filipinos have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

As of July 26, around 17,515,376 individuals have already received COVID-19 vaccine shots, of the number, 6,311,060 have already completed the required second dose.

"Napakalaking bagay po nito lalong-lalo na sa nakikita nating pangamba sa Delta variant, alam naman natin lahat ng eksperto sinasabi kung ikaw ay bakunado, mas maliit ang tsansang ikaw ay malubhang magkakasakit o maoospital dahil sa Delta variant (It's a big thing, especially amid the threat of the Delta variant, experts say that if you're vaccinated, you're less likely to get seriously ill or hospitalized because of the Delta variant)," Dizon said during the ceremonial vaccination of A4 workers in Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

"Ang maganda pa, nung nakaraang linggo, nagtala tayo ng pinakamataas natin na daily jab rate na halos 500,000. Umabot po tayo ng 472,000 at malapit na malapit na ito sa target natin. Bumabagyo pa nun (What's great is that last week, we recorded our highest daily jab rate of nearly 500,000. We have reached 472,000 and it's very close to our target. It was even raining hard last week)," he added.

Amid the threat of the more transmissible Delta variant, Dizon assured that the country is prepared for another possible surge in COVID-19 cases.

"We have to be ready. This is what we tried to do after the last surge. We built more isolation facilities, we expanded our beds in key areas, and we ramped up our vaccination."

The Department of Health on Sunday, July 25, reported 55 additional cases of the Delta variant.

So far, the country's total number of total cases is 119.

Overall, 103 recovered, 12 are active cases, and four have died.
