PCG absorbs 226 new personnel after completing training courses

“Be role models and inspire them. Do not waste this opportunity.”

This was the remark of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant Admiral George Ursabia Jr. during the graduation ceremony of 226 trainees who completed the Coast Guard Non-officers’ course in Zamboanga on Friday, July 16.

“Be good and excellent Coast Guardians and above all, be genuine PCG: patriotic, compassionate, and God-fearing," Ursabia said during the ceremony in the PCG Regional Training Center Zamboanga.

The PCG commandant also reminded graduates to serve the country with valuable respect and honor.

“ part of the Coast Guard service, not for the sake of personal gain through salary, but for the sake of the motherland through valuable public service,” Ursabia added.

The PCG trainees underwent drills, and lectures on the Coast Guard’s customs and traditions, among other preparatory courses.

Also, present during the ceremony were Commodore Eustacio Enriquez Jr., commander of the Coast Guard Education, Training, and Doctrine Command, Commodore Edgar Boado, commander of the Coast Guard District South Western Mindanao, and Auxiliary Commodore Raul Regondola.
