The Mandaluyong City local government has turned over various medical supplies and equipment to the Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) as it continues to ramp up its hospital services amid the growing threat of the COVID-19 Delta variant.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, together with other city government officials, officiated in the turnover of the machines to officials of the MCMC during their assembly on Monday.
Some of the machines the hospital received included a heavy duty clinical centrifuge, serological centrifuge machine, blood chemistry machine, clinical microscopes, microbiology machine, electrolyte machine, hematology machine, and mechanical ventilators. An ECG machine and 2D echo machine were also turned over to the MCMC.

Abalos said the additional supplies and equipment will be a great help in boosting the hospital's capability in serving the public. She promised that the LGU will keep on improving its health care services, especially during this pandemic.
She urged her constituents to register with the city's vaccination program and get vaccinated against the COVID-19.
The City Health Office (CHO) said that as of July 25, the city recorded 135 active COVID cases, 16,620 recoveries, and 430 deaths.
It added that as of July 24, 397,930 vaccines have been deployed, with 244,121 residents getting their first dose, and 153,809 now fully vaccinated.
