Various groups joined the protest rally at the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) grounds in Quezon City on Monday, July 26, in time for President Duterte’s last State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The rally titled #wakaSONA was the protesters' call to end President Duterte’s administration.
The rallyists voiced their disappointments over the administration’s lack of concern for pressing issues such as the pandemic health response, women's rights, and ENDO.
“Duterte ran on a platform replete with anti-elite, pro-poor, slogans, and imaging, but we have seen through the lies, the “propaganda”, In Defense of Human Rights and Dignity Movement (iDEFEND) spokesperson Judy Pasimio said in a statement.
“His performance was the complete opposite, his policies, and projects proved to be anti-poor, and instead have served the interests of the rich, the powerful and the corporations,” she added.
Groups that joined the iDEFEND in the protest rally were the Green Thumb Coalition, Alyansa Tigil Mina, Partido Manggagawa, and Women’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau.
During the program, group leaders gave their messages, calling for an end to the Duterte administration.
One of the rallyists, Josephine Lucero, 56 and a PWD, said she joined the protest to fight for the rights of the workers, including her daughter.
“Kaya kami narito syempre sinusuportahan namin ang manggagawa namin, kasama na anak ko (We are here to support our workers, including my daughter),” she said.
“Yung anak ko isang kahera ngayon ng isang Tupperware business, kaso nga lang ang baba ng sweldo niya. Eh ang hirap kasi dalawa na anak niya (My daughter is a cashier in a Tupperware business but her salary was low. It's hard because she has two children,” she added.
Lucero shared that life is difficult for her and her husband, their two children and grandchildren since their income is not enough to sustain their daily needs.
Lucero also said that she also joined the EDSA People Power in 1986 to fight for the rights of the Filipinos. She added that she has been telling her daughter to also fight for her rights.
She called on the government to also give persons with disabilities financial and medical assistance.
Lucero hopes that Duterte would listen to what is really good not only for the workers but for all the Filipinos in the final stage of his term.
