At least 10 people were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) from their capsized motorbanca amid the rough sea conditions in Albay on Saturday, July 24.

Eric Odeña, boat captain of MBCA Island Breeze, said they were traveling to Claveria Island when their boat was battered by strong waves causing it to capsize,
The PCG Substation Pio Duran deployed a search and rescue team to locate the crew members, however, failed to launch its initial operation due to rough sea and weather condition.
Fortunately, the wind direction and huge waves brought the boat closer to the shore.
Personnel of PCG Substation Pio Duran located the boat approximately 250 meters away from Pio Duran Port, Albay at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday.

The rescue team pulled the towing line towards the shore and gave the crew members medical assistance.
No crew members were injured during the incident.
