Over 700 residents rescued as continuous rains submerge Cavite towns
More than 700 residents trapped in deep floodwaters were rescued in the towns of Naic, Ternate, and Noveleta in Cavite as continuous heavy rains caused massive flooding in the area, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday, July 24.

Personnel of the PCG Station Cavite rescued at least 359 residents in Barangay Bucana Sasahan, Naic, Cavite following the heavy downpour, which caused by southwest monsoon or “habagat” enhanced by typhoon “In-fa” (formerly “Fabian”) on Saturday.
The rescued residents were evacuated to safer grounds in Bucana Sasahan Elementary School, Pueblo Del Mar National Highschool, and Bucana Malaki’s Barangay Hall, which served as evacuation areas in the region.
Meanwhile, at least 234 residents in Ternate and 107 residents in Noveleta, Cavite were brought to safer grounds as the water continue to rise due to the heavy rains.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday morning, July 25, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” enhanced by typhoon “In-fa” (formerly “Fabian”) may continue to bring rains over most of Luzon in the next 24 hours.
The PAGASA advised seafarers and fisherfolk to remain alert as sea conditions, especially over the western seaboard of Luzon may become rough during severe offshore thunderstorms.
