Mayor Emi thanks President Duterte for unwavering support

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for his unwavering support to all local government units that helped them fight the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Rubiano said the President provided major support to all the LGUs' response against COVID-19 in terms of food aid, cash aid, contact tracers, quarantine facilities and, most important, the vaccines against the virus.

She said Duterte's tough governance also inspired police forces in maintaining peace and order, and fighting illegal drugs, criminality, corruption and insurgency.

In Duterte’s final year, the mayor is hoping the President will continue to be tough against drugs, criminality, corruption and insurgency.

Rubiano said she is also hoping the President will further enhance Philippines' diplomatic relations with other countries particularly in trade industry.

As the President is set to deliver his final State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 26, she is expecting to hear more of the administration’s economic plans and the comprehensive national COVID-19 response especially on vaccine procurement, rollout and allocations.

The mayor said she also wants to hear from the President the detailed plans and pronouncements for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the 2022 elections.

Rubiano also wants the President to continue helping Pasay City with adequate allocation of vaccines and other COVID-19 response resources.
