Manila Cathedral to implement use of StaySafe app on August 1

For a more centralized contact tracing, the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros will be strictly implementing the use of the StaySafe PH app starting August 1.

The Cathedral announced this on Sunday, July 25 in a Facebook post.

To give the faithful how to register in the StaySafe app, the Cathedral provided these steps:

- Go to the website www.staysafe.ph

- Register by entering your cellphone number, then key in the one-time pin (OTP) sent to you. You will then be asked to provide some personal information and your health declaration.

-You will finally be provided with your own personal QR code. Save the picture of the QR code on your cellphone.

"Every time you will attend Mass at the Cathedral, our security staff will scan your personal QR code,"read the post.

"You can present the picture you saved on your cellphone. For those who do not have or bring their cellphones, you can just print the QR code and present it to our security for scanning," the Cathedral added.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) had advised local government units (LGUs) that do not have their own contact tracing system to use the StaySafe.PH application in order to help the national government in its contact tracing activities and efforts to cut the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission in the country.
