'Man-deep' floods reported in two Metro areas Sunday--MMDA

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has identified knee-to-"man-deep" floods in several areas in the metropolis at past noon Sunday, July 25 as a result of the torrential rains caused by the southwest monsoon.

A flood advisory released by the agency at around 12:30 p.m. bared this monitoring report in Muntinlupa City: Aplaya Barangay Buli, Purok 1 entrance Barangay Buli, Free will Barangay Putatan, Multiland Barangay Putatan, and 7A Ilaya St. Alabang bungad, all with knee-deep floods; Hills view Barangay Putatan, Mabira Barangay Putatan, and Alabang dulo with waist-deep floods; and Purok 1 dulo Barangay Buli with chest-deep flood.

An area typically becomes non-passable to light vehicles once the flooding there reaches knee-level.

Over in Viente Reales Canumay West Bypass road in Valenzuela City, the flood level there was described as "man-deep" by the MMDA.

P. Santiago Mc Arthur, also in Valenzuela, was said to have knee-high flood.

Knee-deep floods were also monitored in Barangay 4 Sangandaan Bisig in Caloocan City; Kalusugan de la paz in Pasig City; and Kawayanan Barangay Tuktukan, Bagong Sicat Sta. Ana, Mercado Barangay Hagonoy, Moon light Barangay Hagonoy, and Bagong silang Barangay Hagonoy, all in Taguig City.

Gumamela Barangay Roxas in Quezon City was monitored to have man-deep flood a few hours earlier at 8 a.m.
