Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano announced that the scheduled vaccination on July 24 was cancelled because of heavy rains that caused flooding in many parts of Metro Manila.
Rubiano made the announcement in the city government’s official Facebook page, stressing that the move was to ensure the safety of everyone, particularly those living in flood-prone areas.
“Nagmomonitor po ako ng sitwasyon ng bawat barangay at nanawagan po ako sa ating mga mamamayan na gawin ang lahat ng kinakailangan pag-iingat dahil ilang araw na rin po ang malalakas na pag-ulan na ito,” (I am monitoring the situation in each barangay and I am calling all the city residents to take the necessary precaution amid heavy rains for the past several days), Rubiano said.
The mayor said the city government has been conducting all necessary preparations for evacuation of those who might need to be relocated because of the rains.
Rubiano also asked the residents who need to be relocated to coordinate immediately with the authorities.
She said that all necessary items related to evacuation such as food packs and medicines, especially for leptospirosis, are already pre-positioned and will be provided to those who might need them.
In case of emergencies, Rubiano advised the residents to call the Command Center at mobile numbers 09178672263 and 09199253709, and landline number 77585746.
