Flooding, water and power interruptions hit the entire town of Cainta, Rizal following the continuous heavy downpour.

Almost the entire town was hit by floods, from gutter deep to as high as chest deep, prompting local government rescuers to evacuate residents in affected communities.

From side streets to roads inside big villages, floodwaters rendered residents confined in their homes while others were moved to evacuation sites.

Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto, in his Facebook page post, was shown giving food packs to residents of Karangalan Village amidst the flood.

At least three villages in Cainta -- San Juan, San Isidro, and Sto. Nino -- experienced water interruption as a result of the power failure in most parts of the town.

The local government had to send a power generator to Manila Water’s Brookside pumping station that was affected by the power interruption in order to restore the supply of water in the affected communities.

Rescuers had to evacuate some residents whom they found atop their rooftops in several flood prone villages.

Several school buildings were transformed into temporary evacuation sites with the evacuees given hot meals during their stay.

Flood waters in most parts of the town remained at knee deep as of 3 p.m.
