Around 33 villages in the province of Bulacan were under floodwaters due to continuous rains, high tide and excess water from Bustos Dam, the Provincial Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said on Saturday, July 24.
As of 5:00 a.m., the PDRRMO reported flooding in 15 villages in the town of Paombong, two in Guiguinto, three in Balagtas, four in Marilao, and nine in Hagonoy .

Meanwhile, as of 6:00 a.m. today, the water level of Angat Dam was 185.95 meters (spilling 212 meters); Ipo Dam 98.79 meters (spilling level 101:00 meters), while the Bustos Dam was 17.33 meters, above the spilling level of 17:00 meters.
To maintain its water elevation, Bustos Dam gradually released 1.5 meters and 1.5 meters of water from Radial gates 1 and 2, respectively.

According to the PDRRMO, due to the influence of the southwest monsoon enhanced by “Typhoon Fabian”, scattered to widespread monsoon rains will be experienced in the next 24 hours in Central Luzon including Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Metro Manila.
PDRRMO also reported that the Lias Road, Ibayo Boundary, and Salusoy in Marilao, including the Bagbaguin Bridge in Sta Maria, and the roads of Sto. Ñiño, Sta. Monica, Mercado, San Jose, Sto. Rosario, Sta. Cruz, San Pascual, and San Nicolas in Hagonoy town are not passable to light vehicles. (Freddie Velez)
