Cops deployed to clear roads blocked by landslides in Benguet


Policemen have been deployed in various parts of Benguet to assist in road-clearing operations after several incidents of landslides occurred in the province due to the incessant rains in the past days.

The policemen were also given instruction to warn motorists of the danger in some of the roads were landslides occurred.

Based on the report of the Benguet police, several landslides occurred in Tuba and La Trinidad towns which resulted in the blocking of some of the roads.

“Monitoring of all roads are now being conducted to determine if landslide affected the traffic and if these pose danger to the motorists,” a police report read.

Local police forces in areas affected by typhoon Fabian were alerted to assist in search and rescue, evacuation and road-clearing operations.

Aside from landslides, several areas in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon were also flooded.
