Kurt Barbosa fell to a losing start in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after bowing down to reigning world champion Jang Jun of South Korea, 26-6 (win by point gap), in the taekwondo men's 58kg on Saturday, July 24 at the Makuhari Messe Hall A.
It was a dominant performance from the world No. 1 jin who got off to a massive 12-1 start and finished off the Filipino standout with 1:47 remaining in the third round.
The 22-year-old Barbosa still has a chance to keep his campaign alive in the repechage later.
