Pasay LGU to inoculate 800 seniors per day with J&J vaccine

The Pasay City government is targeting to inoculate 800 senior citizens per day with US-made Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine in celebration of Pasay City Seniors Day from July 23 to 25.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government received 2,800 single-dose J&J vaccines from the national government for the vaccination of the city’s seniors with comorbidities.

Rubiano said aside from the three-day inoculation of 800 senior citizens with comorbidities per day, the city government will also provide various incentives to those who will agree to be vaccinated.

She said senior citizens with comorbidities are no longer required to register at the Office of the Senior Citizens in their respective barangays. They can immediately proceed to the vaccination sites.

The mayor said the city government is working overtime to speed up its inoculation drive as a precautionary measure and in preparation for the potential onslaught of the dreaded Delta variant, which experts say is more contagious and virulent than the other variants.

Rubiano said as an added come-on, fully vaccinated senior citizens will automatically qualify in the raffle draw and will be provided with free maintenance medicines for one month.


She said those who will be picked in the raffle will also receive a still unspecified amount of cash which will be known during the draw on July 25.

The mayor added the barangays that have successfully inoculated 100% of their senior citizens, including those with comorbidities, will also be given incentives.
