DSWD reports more than P1.7 billion worth of stockpiles, standby funds for disaster operations

As typhoon “Fabian” brought monsoon rains that caused flooding in Metro Manila, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported Thursday, July 22, that it has standby funds and available stockpiles amounting to more than P1.72 billion.

The DSWD-Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) said as of July 22, 6 p.m., the agency has more than P854.78 million in total standby funds. Of this, P806.58 million has been earmarked as available standby funds at the DSWD Central Office and P48.2 million at the Field Offices (FOs).

The DSWD said a total of 329,869 family food packs (FFPs) worth more than P181.76 million were available for distribution to the local government units (LGUs) that are in need of relief augmentation support.

Each FFP contains six kilos of rice, four cans of sardines, four cans of corned beef or beef loaf, and six sachets of coffee or cereal energy drink which is enough for two days for a family with five members.

More than P457.07 million worth of non-food items (NFIs) and more than P233.15 million worth of other food items were also readied as part of the DSWD’s stockpiles.
