Robredo announces 5 vaccination sites for Nagavax Express

Vice President Leni Robredo on Thursday, July 22, announced the five vaccination sites that will be used for the Nagavax Express, the spinoff of her Vaccine Express initiative, in her hometown of Naga to help vaccinate senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.

The Naga City government reached out to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) to ask for help in administering the 6,000 Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine. They set the schedule starting tomorrow, July 23, until Saturday.

“Let’s see each other tomorrow and on Saturday. To our seniors, the schedule is tomorrow. Saturday is for those who have comorbidities,” Robredo said in Bikol in a Facebook post.

The Nagavax Express’ five vaccination sites are the Urban Site Pacol Covered Court, Camarines Sur National High School Pavillion, Holy Rosary Major Seminary, JMR Coliseum, and University of Nueva Caceres Sports Palace.

Residents of Barangays Carolina, Pacol, Panicuason, and San Isidro will be vaccinated at the Urban Site Pacol Covered Court while those from Barangays Bagumbayan Norte, Bagumbayan Sur, Calauag, Liboton, Penafrancia, and San Felipe will need to go to the Camarines Sur National High School Pavillion.

The Holy Rosary Major Seminary will be the site of vaccinees from Barangays Cararayan, Concepcion Grande, Concepcion Pequena, and Del Rosario while the JMR Coliseum will be for Barangays Balatas, Dayangdang, Dinaga, Lerma, San Francisco, Tinago, and Triangulo.

Barangays Abella, Igualdad, Mabolo, Sabang, Sta. Cruz, and Tabuco have to go to the University of Nueva Caceres Sports Palace.

Robredo made a call for volunteers on Monday, July 19, for doctors and nurses in Naga to help in the vaccination drive. She reported that many have already heeded the call, so they are confident that they can use up all the doses allocated for the program.

The Vaccine Express was piloted in Manila with Mayor Isko Moreno last month. Over 4,500 tricycle, pedicab, and delivery riders received their COVID-19 jabs.

Other local government units such as Quezon City and Cagayan de Oro have already reached out to Robredo to bring the Vaccine Express to their localities.

However, the vice president explained that they do not have access to the country’s vaccine supply, so the LGU has to allocate the vaccine doses delivered to them.
