100% of target senior citizens in Pasig receive 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

All senior citizens in Pasig City, who were targeted to be immunized, have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Vico Sotto said on Thursday (July 22).

“Kinilala rin ng nasyonal ang Pasig bilang isa sa unang LGU (local government units) na nakaabot ng 100% sa Target Vaccination Number para sa mga SENIOR CITIZEN (The national government has recognized us as one of the LGUs that reached 100 percent of the Target Vaccination Number for senior citizens),” he posted on Twitter.



Sotto said such means that the 44,703 senior citizens who registered for inoculation have all been vaccinated.



Meanwhile, he said that the city government has received 4,900 doses of J&J vaccine.



According to the mayor, the inoculation in Pasig City has become faster as the city is vaccinating more people than their initial target number of individuals per day.



Sotto noted that on Wednesday (July 21), Pasig City has vaccinated 11,817 individuals.



“Nung unang naaprubahan ng DOH ang microplan natin, nasa 5,800 vax per day ang target ng Pasig. Kahapon, umabot tayo sa 11,817 jabs!! Nasa DOBLE ng initial target natin (When DOH first approved our microplan, our target is to vaccinate 5,800 individuals per day. Yesterday, we vaccinated 11,817 individuals which is more than double of our target)!”



He said that such a milestone was reached even though other vaccination sites in Pasig remain closed due to the lack of vaccine supply.
