PCG rescues 2 fishermen from capsized motorbanca in Batangas
Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Substation Calatagan rescued two fishermen from a capsized motorbanca off Calatagan, Batangas on Monday, July 19.
Captain Geronimo Tuvilla, commander of PCG Station Batangas, said they received a report from Vessel Traffic Monitoring System (VTMS) - Batangas that there was a capsized motorbanca in the area.

The PCG Substation Calatagan deployed a search and rescue team upon receiving the information.
"Despite the strong waves and wind condition prevailing in the area, the search and rescue team was able to find and rescue the two fishermen," Tuvilla said in a statement.
The fishermen were identified as Fernan Cantoja and Jayson Lidores, both residents of Sitio Burot, Barangay Tanagan in Calatagan, Batangas.
The rescued fishermen were brought to safety and properly turned over to their family.

Meanwhile, the capsized motorbanca was towed back to shore.
"We also reminded them to prioritize their personal safety by not venturing into sea during bad weather and/or sea condition," Tuvilla added.
