Parañaque City's mobile vaccination program inoculates 2,287 individuals

Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city’s mobile vaccination program (MVP) which was launched on May 22 has vaccinated a total of 2,287 residents.

According to Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, medical director of Ospital ng Parañaque 1 & 2, the team of MVP had already visited 11 communities around the city and vaccinated 2,287 individuals.

Pagsisihan said the team, which was created by Olivarez, is composed of representatives from the City Health Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit under Dr. Darius Sebastian in coordination with Eva Nono, head of the Parañaque External and Homeowners Affair (PEHA).

Sebastian reports the villages with high numbers of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases and coordinates with Nono who organizes with homeowner associations MVPs’ vaccination program.

Nono said the creation of the MVP team was a success as more villages and subdivisions have been coordinating with them for the conduct of vaccination in their communities.

She said residents living in villages and subdivisions prefer that they get vaccinated at home instead of visiting the city government’s identified vaccination site for fear of contracting the virus.

The head of the PEHA added that Olivarez is happy with the participation of homeowners' associations in the city’s vaccination program.
