Margielyn Didal explores Olympic venue Ariake Urban Sports Park

Margielyn Didal gets to experience what it feels like skating at the Ariake Urban Sports Park, the skateboarding venue for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics in Japan.

Located near the Athletes' Village, Didal and the rest of the national skateboarding team took a quick detour at the Ariake Urban Sports Park as seen on the social media channels of Skate Pilipinas, coach Dani Bautista, manager Anthony Claravall, and Didal herself.

Claravall, also a skate filmmaker, posted a photo of the Cebuana pride on hangtime while executing a trick on Instagram Story.

Likewise, the 22-year-old Southeast Asian Games gold medalist shared some skyscraper-esque views from her room at the Athlete's Village.

The Philippine skateboarding team flew from Los Angeles International Airport on July 19 and arrived in Japan the following day, July 20.

Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz, who earlier visited and met with fellow Olympians, was also all smiles after meeting Didal.

Both Didal and Diaz won gold medals in the 2018 Asian Games.

Didal, the first Filipina skateboarder to qualify for the Olympics along with the sports' debut in the prestigious quadrennial meet, is currently ranked No. 17 in the world and No. 5 in Asia.

She will compete along with 19 other qualifiers on July 26, Monday, with the preliminary heats starting at 8 am and the Final at around 11:25 am.
