Kemark Carino joins Japanese club Aomori Wat's in B.League

Kemark Carino became the latest Filipino player who is set to take his act in Japan after signing with the Aomori Wat’s in the second division of Japan’s B.League.

The club made the announcement Thursday, July 21 as the San Beda center and Gilas Pilipinas pool player will follow the lead of Thirdy Ravena and brothers Javi and Juan Gomez de Liano.

Carino, 23, joins an Aomori side that finished dead last in the B.League second division with just seven victories in 58 matches.

He is the latest cager from the Philippines who was signed under the B.League’s Asian Player Quota that allows teams to sign up imports from the Asian region.

Ravena had completed his first season with the San-En Neophoenix of the B.League’s top division, Javi Gomez de Liano will play for the Ibaraki Robots while younger brother Juan is going to suit up for second division side Earthfriends Tokyo Z.

Carino played three seasons for San Beda in the NCAA and suited up for Gilas Pilipinas in the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Bahrain last November.

He averaged 3.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 13 minutes during his two games for Gilas against Thailand in that window.
