WTFu (What the FU) by MR.FU: Paolo Gumabao's video call

Young actor Paolo Gumabao was in high spirits when he recently guested in our digital show, WTFu. Although his management team did not allow him to be in our studio (natakot ata na nahawakan ko!), it was still a fun experience having him via Zoom. Apparently, he had to stay home in preparation for an ABS-CBN teleserye lock-in taping. (sana ako pumunta sa bahay mo bro!)

Paolo is currently getting media attention because of his film “Lockdown” by Director Joel Lamangan which had an advanced screening for the members of the press weeks ago. He plays an overseas Filipino worker who got involved in cyber sex to earn a living. (ay pwede magrequest ng video call bro?)

This is not his first daring role because he even had butt exposure in the film “Mga Batang Poz.” (ay dito kaya ano, naexpose?!)

“Mas may mga ipinakita ako dito sa 'Lockdown.' Inaral ko talaga yung character mabuti. Inaral ko yung mga lines. At siyempre bawal ma-late sa set dahil si Direk Joel Lamangan ito,” Paolo shares. (pakita bro!)

His half-brother Marco Gumabao is supportive of this film and with how things are going in his career. “Pinapanood niya movies ko, pinapanood ko rin yung sa kanya. We support each other. Minsan pinopost pa nya mga projects ko.” (ay ako kahit poste ng meralco ibibigay ko sayo bro!)

What they are not able to do lately is visiting their dad, former actor, Dennis Roldan who is in prison. “Nakakausap ko naman sya noon. Nakakadalaw din. But because of the pandemic, we’re not able to visit him.”

No doubt this 22-year-old gentleman has showbiz blood because he knows how to deal with intriguing questions. He also has this charm that made our playtime segment more exciting. (masunuring bata!)

One of the challenges in the show was for him to take off his shirt.

MF: Ok lang ba sayo na mag-alis ka ng shirt mo?

PG: Ah teka, icheck ko lang kung ok ang katawan ko.

(tumayo at humarap sa salamin)

MF: (habang sumisilip sa monitor ng zoom) Nakakaloka!

PG: (umupo ulit) Ok, sige. Pwede.
