The Department of Health (DOH) tallied 4,516 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, raising the nationwide case count to 1,517,903.
Of the total, 3.1 percent or 46,806 are active cases. The DOH said 91.7 percent of them are experiencing mild symptoms, 2.1 percent are asymptomatic, 1.6 percent are critical, 2.7 percent are in severe condition, and 1.90 percent have moderate symptoms.
The recovery tally also climbed to 1,444,253 or 95.1 percent of the overall count after 5,240 more patients survived.
Meanwhile, the death toll jumped to 26,844 after 58 more fatalities were confirmed.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the Cordillera Administrative Region, Western Visayas, and Davao region are still considered as “high-risk” for COVID-19.
The National Capital Region (NCR) is still classified under the low-risk category, she said.
“But it is not something to be complacent of. Especially nakakakita na po tayo ng kaunting pagtaas ng kaso sa ilang lugar( we are seeing a slight increase in cases in some areas),” said Vergeire.
“Nakakakita din tayo ng ibang mga cities here in the National Capital Region na medyo nagkakaroon na ng pagdami ng pag admit ng mga COVID cases--- suspects and probables in our hospitals (We also see other cities here in the National Capital Region that are already experiencing an increase in the admission of suspect and probable COVID-19 cases in hospitals),” she added.
The OCTA research group also said it observed an increasing trend of new COVID-19 cases in the City of Manila, Makati, Valenzuela, Pasay, Marikina, and Paranaque.
