Creamline and PetroGazz gun for a second straight win while BaliPure opens its campaign Tuesday, July 20, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the PVC Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

The Cool Smashers and the Angels clash at 3 p.m., while the Water Defenders collide with the Black Mamba Army Lady Troopers at 6 p.m.

Both Creamline and PetroGazz hope to follow up their respective strong starts over the weekend.

The Cool Smashers bested the Sta Lucia Lady Realtors, 25-18, 25-20, 25-27, 25-18 on Saturday while the Angels edged the Lady Troopers, 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, in the rain-delayed match last Sunday that lasted five hours.

Michele Gumabao and Alyssa Valdez are set to banner Creamline anew after combining for 44 points against Sta Lucia, while reinforcements will come from Jema Galanza, Jeanette Panaga and setter Jia Morado.

The Cool Smashers are also expected to display their all-around game like the last time, where they exploded for 61 kills, had 11 blocks and made eight aces in their four-set match win.

PetroGazz, meanwhile, hopes its one-day respite following a grueling opener will rejuvenate them with Ria Meneses, Myla Pablo, Grethcel Soltones and Chie Saet matching Creamline’s resolve.

Like the Angels, the Lady Troopers also hope they have mustered enough energy against a fresh team like the Water Defenders.

Veterans Jovelyn Gonzaga, Joanne Bunag and Royse Tubino will comprise Army’s deadly trio after teaming up for 40 points against PetroGazz, while BaliPure has Alina Bicar, Judith Abil, Grazielle Bombita and Roselle Baliton.

BaliPure was supposed to play its first match against Choco Mucho last Sunday, but was postponed due to the delays brought by the rainy condition at the venue.
