North Cotabato governor vows 100% support for Sara if she runs for president next year

DAVAO CITY – North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco has promised 100 percent support for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte should President Duterte’s daughter run to succeed her father in the 2022 elections.

In a 3:26 video posted by a Facebook group called Kabataang Cotabateño, Catamco said the province is calling on the presidential daughter to run for president.

"Mayor Inday Sara, ang hiling po ng bawat North Cotabateño, tumakbo po kayo bilang presidente ng Pilipinas (Mayor Inday Sara, the wish of every North Cotabateño is for you to run as president of the Philippines)," Catamco said.

"Kami po sa North Cotabato ay sisiguraduhin ko po 100 percent po ang suporta ng bawat isa para po sa inyong pagtakbo (I will ensure 100 percent support of each of us from North Cotabato for your bid)," Catamco added.

In the same video, another official from the province, Dr. Philbert Malaluan, second district provincial board member, also expressed support for the Davao City mayor.

"Madam Inday Sara Duterte ang tunay na pagmamahal ay makikita sa pagbabago ng buhay ng isang tao. Mula pa sayong ama noon hanggang sayo ngayon sa Davao City, ang mga tao na galing sa Cotabato province ay natulungan ng husto ninyo. Ang aming hiling sa inyo ipagpatuloy ninyo ang inyong pag-aaruga at pagmamahal at narito kami para suportahan kayo (Madam Inday Sara Duterte, real love manifests in the changes in a person's life. From your father's time until your service as mayor of Davao City, you have helped the people from Cotabato province a lot. What we request from you is to continue your care and love and we are here to support you)," he said.

Other local officials and residents spoke in the short video in which the name "Hon. Arturo T. Uy and Partners" appears as producer. Uy currently is a board member in the second district of Davao de Oro and is a member of Mayor Duterte's regional party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).
